On March 7th, 2024, delegates from Shandong province, under the leadership of Mr. Cai Xianjin, Director General of the Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, visited Chicago to explore opportunities for agricultural collaboration.
The delegates were joined by a diverse group of ag and food businesses from multiple states for lively discussions. Three Shandong ag companies with operations in the U.S. attended the event and gave presentations on their business developments: Shandong Baijia Food Co. Ltd., Weichai Power, and Shandong Qihe Biotechnology Co. Ltd.
Heartland-based businesses and organizations in attendance included the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the China General Chamber of Commerce-Chicago, World Business Chicago, the U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce, COFCO International, the Greater Columbus Chinese Chamber of Commerce, as well as Dentons.
Mr. Cai Xianjin gave a warm welcome on behalf of Shandong province to American ag leaders to visit Shandong and attend the 2024 U.S.-China Ag Roundtable to be held in June later this year.
