6th Annual U.S.-China Sister Cities Summit

Min Fan, USHCA’s Executive Director, was one of many representatives from the Heartland states that traveled to Tacoma, Washington, to participate in the 6th U.S. – China Sister Cities Summit on July 18 – 19th, 2024.

The community of Tacoma rolled out the red carpet for their domestic and international visitors; guests were greeted with a band of bagpipers, a formal cannon salute, traditional Mexican Salsa and Chinese Lion dances, as well as blessings by Puyallup Tribal leaders.

St. Louis-Nanjing Sister Cities Celebration

On April 21st, 2024, USHCA representatives attended the Celebration for the 45th Anniversary of St. Louis-Nanjing Sister City Relationship to welcome a visiting delegation from Nanjing. This event was jointly organized by the Nanjing Foreign Affairs Office and St. Louis-Nanjing Sister City Committee, and hosted by the World Trade Center-St. Louis at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

Denver-Kunming Sister Cities Celebration

First established in 1986, the Denver-Kunming Sister City relationship has thrived in the past 25 years thanks to dedicated bridge builders from both cities. Even though the pandemic has significantly impacted in-person cultural exchanges, the friendship of the two cities continues thanks to technologies that connect us.

In this special event themed – Gateway to Outdoor Adventure – both cities will celebrate their shared love for natural beauty and outdoor activities. Speakers from both cities will share how each city protects the natural beauty of their cities, supports outdoor recreation and tourism while instilling a love of the outdoors in youth.
