SUMMARY:New Horizons: Navigating US-China Educational Exchanges
DESCRIPTION:Since the normalization of US-China bilateral relationship 45 years ago\, educational exchanges have brought many benefits to both countries. Even though the pandemic and geopolitical tensions have significantly hindered two-way exchanges during the last three years\, the overall environment is improving. Last November\, leaders of both countries reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting people-to-people exchange at their meeting in San Francisco\, where Chinese President Xi Jinping boldly announced the goal of welcoming 50\,000 American students to visit China in the next 5 years. This announcement has created much excitement among educators and community leaders. \nPlease join us in this special online event that brings together leaders dedicated to expanding US-China educational exchanges for a timely discussion on the new opportunities and challenges ahead. \nThis program is a collaboration between the US Heartland China Association and China Institute in America.

SUMMARY:2023 U.S.-China Educational Exchange Convening
DESCRIPTION:U.S.-China Educational Exchanges have brought tremendous benefits to both countries in the past four decades. But\, growing geopolitical tensions have upended traditional models of exchange in many ways. College and university leaders\, who have played a fundamentally important role in developing positive relationships between these two nations for decades\, are especially aware of the importance of positive communications\, productive dialogues\, and continued educational exchanges between the world’s two largest economies for their communities\, institutions\, faculties\, and students. \nUSHCA’s annual convening of education leaders allows for candid discussion among peers regarding the challenges and opportunities of U.S.-China Educational Exchanges. 2023’s convening will be hosted by Eastern Michigan University (Ypsilanti\, Michigan) on August 10 & 11\, 2023. The event will bring together education leaders and decision makers from both countries to explore the next chapter of U.S.-China Educational Exchanges. \nThis is an invitation-only event.
